Next Week In Math
Next week in math students will be working with even and odd numbers. They will understand conceptually how to determine if a set of objects is even or odd by placing the objects into two equal groups.
What can you do to support your child's learning?
Find sets of objects around your house (up to a total of 20). Help your child split the set into two equal groups. Discuss with them - can we separate these objects into two equal groups? Are there leftovers?
We define an even number as a number that can be divided (split) into 2 equal groups.
We define an odd number as a number that cannot be divided (split) into 2 equal groups.

Read And Learn About Hurricanes Together!
If you are safe and fortunate enough to have power and internet connectivity, read books together about hurricanes. If your child is feeling afraid or anxious about the weather, you have a great opportunity to help them talk through their fears. By learning about what hurricanes are and the steps you've taken to ensure your family's safety, you can alleviate the fear of the unknown for your child.
To log in, all you need is your child's lunch number. If they don't have it memorized, message your child's teacher on ClassDojo or send an email and we will ensure that you get the information you need!
