All parents say goodbye to students at the front door without entering the building. If for any reason you must enter the building, you will be directed to the main office to sign into our visitor system as you would at any other time of day. You will need to sign out when you leave. Thank you for your understanding of our need for a secure building and for your continued support in keeping Green Elementary safe.
Please message your child's teacher to make an appointment or send an email if you need to speak with them. If it is necessary to enter the building during arrival (8:45am – 9:15am) you will be required to enter the main office and sign in via our check-in service. You will then need to sign out when you leave.
Breakfast: Students must arrive in the cafeteria by 9:10 to get served. Students arriving on campus at the bell should go directly to the classroom so that instruction begins on time
Carpool Information
You must register for a carpool number at the front office.
The Carpool Entrance is on Snelling Drive. All carpool students will need to enter along Snelling Drive from Six Forks Road and follow the carpool road all the way around the back side of the building. The drop off area will be designated with orange cones in the front of the school.
We will begin unloading cars at 8:45am for arrival. The same procedures will be in place for dismissal, which will begin at 4:00pm. Cars will remain lined up until staff signals them to pull forward to the pick-up area.
Staff and Safety Patrol students will assist loading on the passenger side of vehicles in the designated loading area marked by orange cones. Once loaded, cars should proceed slowly to Snelling Drive to exit the campus.
We now have a traffic light to assist when exiting the campus from Snelling Drive.
Bus Information
Buses move a little slower the first month of school so thank you for your patience at bus stops. Remember that bus stop information can be found in Powerschool. If you need help setting up an account online, please come into the office or contact Ms. Krahe for assistance.
If you have a bus route available to you and you do not use it within the first 30 days, the bus route will no longer be available to you.
A responsible person must be at the bus stop. If not, your child will be transported to bus services. This is another reason why it is so important for us to have updated phone numbers to contact you.
In the morning, students should be ready and waiting for the bus at least 10 minutes before the bus is expected to arrive.
You can support our work with students by insisting with your child that she/he remain seated while the bus is moving and that all students remain in their assigned seats until they reach their assigned bus stop or school. We must respect our drivers and help them ensure a safe ride for students. Thanks for your support!
